The staff at this place are too busy hanging out and talking to each other to properly wait on their customers. Hey kids, if you don't want to WORK at your JOB, then give it up to someone who needs it.
Snotty and indifferent attitudes from the time you walk in to be seated, when your order is taken, and until you leave. Terrible, terrible, staff.
Last 2 times I've been there, our food (pasta) was dried out and getting cold.

The 'bee is at it again. After telling my wife I would never go back, she thought it might be better after a couple months off. WRONG. Was delivered the wrong appetizer and was told that it was just taken to the wrong table and ours would be right out. 10 minutes later our CHIPS AND SALSA arrived. Wait another 20 minutes for our food to arrive and get our 1st refill. Keep in mind we have been waiting a half an hour. Listen to our server screw up another tables order, listen to server explain they are out of baked potatoes for the night to another table at 5:15?? Get our food, coleslaw was dried out, fries were at least 45 minutes old, wifes salad had wilted lettuce. Receive our check to find out the server had lied and he actually rang in the wrong appetizer and we were charged for it. Couldn't get it fixed so was given a free appetizer coupon. Threw the coupon in the trash, WILL NEVER RETURN AGAIN...and that was my wife talking.

I have had such bad service at Applebee's, that I have nothing that I can compare it to. The last couple times I tried them again they were out of what I wanted! Restaurants should not run out of something on a non-busy night! And the incidents were a month apart!! A case of bad management, and even worse service from both the wait staff, and the door greeters. One time they didn't even sing happy birthday to my son- even when I reminded the waitress twice (and I let her know when we first were seated!). I even asked if he could have a balloon from the doorway instead, since they did not ever sing. She never reappeared, even though she agreed- and went to go get one! LOL!! The place is now a joke! It is not the Applebee's it used to be, when my sisters and I would stop in there at least once a week. The food tastes like it is frozen from a box- I could go to the grocery store and buy better, pre-made. Save yourself the time, don't stop!!

Applebee's is consistantly the worst service in Topeka. Most of that would be contributed to their management staff of over-achieving hourly employees who are coerced into management. Plan on waiting 45 minutes for your food and only seeing your server twice during your entire meal.

I love that Applebee's offers Weight Watchers/diet friendly options. It's nice to know that I can eat good, quality food and still stay on track. The service is pretty good and the atmosphere is neat, although a little crowded for my taste on Fridays and Saturdays.
