AJ's NY Pizzeria

Located in the former Frances O'Dooley's Irish Pub & Grille spot near S.W. 21st and Westport Drive, AJ's NY Pizzeria is a Manhattan-based eatery that features authentic New York pizza inspired by the Mastandos of Brooklyn, a New York pizzeria for over 50 years.

AJ's, which opened on Sept. 20, 2012, has unique specialty pizzas including AJ’s Grilled Cheese Pie and Hot Wing Pie as well as traditionally-topped pizzas and their specialty — pizza by the slice.

In addition to pizza, AJ's serves hot wings, toasted ravioli, garlic knots, hero sandwiches and a variety of unique fresh salads.



Annie's Place

4014 S.W. Gage Center Drive, Topeka

Annie's Place has been a favorite mealtime destination for casual dining for since the late 1980s. It prides itself on its freshness, whether it is pies and bread or salads. Enjoy a delicious specialty burger and special dessert menu featuring your favorite pies cooked fresh daily. Annie's serves breakfast on Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon.



Baker's Dozen Donuts

4310 S.W. 21st St., Topeka

Baker's Dozen began in 2004 as a mom-and-pop style doughnut store. The S.W. 21st St. store moved into an 11,000-square-foot building that offers a drive-through window seven days a week. The spacious dining room hours on 21st St., where all of the store's baking is done, are now 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Regulars will still find the popular Peanut Butter and Jelly Donut and the Chocolate and Peanut Butter Donut, with fresh batches now made twice a day. And you still get more for your money at Baker's Dozen, which stays true to its name by adding an extra doughnut to every dozen you purchase. Diabetic? No problem! Billy Vanilly

Billy Vanilly (formerly called Daddy Cakes) is the only place you will find gourmet cupcakes in the Topeka area. Blind Tiger Brewery and Restaurant

417 S.W. 37th St., Topeka

The Blind Tiger opened in 1995 offering casual dining, "good food, friendly people and great beer." Every day the bar features nine beers on tap, including four handcrafted ales from the restaurant's microbrewery. The restaurant, which can handle large parties and has daily lunch and dinner specials, features midwestern favorites including Kansas City-style barbequed ribs and seasonally available buffalo burgers. Blue Moose Bar & Grill

Boss Hawg's Barbeque

As its slogan says, Boss Hawg's has been "Horrifying Vegetarians Since 1995" with its delicious barbecue. The casual dining restaurant, located in the Brookwood Shopping Center and attached to Pigskin's Sports Bar, has won numerous state and regional awards, and has placed high in national and international rankings.
