These guys should open a BBQ restaurant too!!
Last night we attended Bill's Diner Backyard Blues and BBQ. My wife had a pulled pork sandwich and I had a beef brisket sandwich - both very tender and with a delicious smoked flavor for $5!! And the dinner plates that people ordered had a mountain of meat, easily enough for two people, plus cheesy potatoes and baked beans, all for $9!
Too bad this is not on their diner menu every day!!
The waitresses also did a real nice job of coming to refresh drink orders from people seated all around the field.
Bill's has to have one of the two best BBQ's in Topeka, along with Blind Tiger's, and much better than the overrated Boss Hawg's!

The only down side of the evening was that we arrived just as the first blues act was ending and the second act took over an hour to get started.

My husband and I visited Bill's Diner for lunch recently. We both really enjoyed our meals. The place is small for dining inside, but they do have a drive thru. The prices were very reasonable. My husband and I spent about $15 on a double cheeseburger with fries and a drink and a beef brisket combo with cheesy potatoes. The brisket was the weekend's special. It's not always on the menu. Both were really good. My husband got to pick out of three cheeses and had fresh vegetable toppings. The brisket was fantastic and the cheesy potatoes were delicious (hashbrowns, cheese, sour cream, and corn flakes for the topping). We will definitely be back to try the breakfast.

My only complaint is they are only open until 2. Sundays have all day breakfast, otherwise breakfast finishes up at 10:30.

WANTED TO TRY THE FAMOUS MEATLOAF BUT WAS TOLD IT HAS NOT BEEN ON THE MENU FOR NEARLY A YEAR. OUTSTANDING BISCUITS AND GRAVY. FREINDLY FOLKS

Just as good if not better than Bobo's or The Pad!

We have had both breakfast and dinner and Bill's and both were very good! The Country Breakfast of eggs, hash browns, sausage, and biscuits is only $6.50 and all was very tasty, especially the sausage! The hamburgers and fries were also excellent! As others have noted, not healthy, but tasty enough and priced reasonably enough to keep us going back when we want some good "diner" food.
But be prepared for truly "self-serve" (no real service in the dining area).

Can compare favorably to Bobo's and The Pad any day!

This is a great place to go for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! The kids love going for breakfast, and my husband loves trying to eat the quad cheeseburger - which normally ends up being two meals for him. Great staff and great food!

The breakfast was really good and the prices are not bad either. I really want to taste one of their burgers; so cannot wait to go back. The staff is also very friendly.

You probably won't find a better greasy hamburger in Topeka than at Bill's. It isn't healthy but it sure is tasty!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful!

My husband and I ate there yesterday for lunch and really enjoyed our meal. Their burgers are juicy without being greasy and the fries were hot and crisp.
