This place seems to be having an identity problem. Is it a bar or a coffee house? The coffee is OK. A little burnt to my taste. Roasted doesn't necessarily mean charcoal.

Good first impression

I was running early this morning and needed a refill on coffee. Rather than running into Dillon's, I stopped at Blackbird Bistro. First time for me, and it made a good impressions. Good coffee and cinnamon roll, and nice place. I'm looking forward to trying it for lunch and it's good beer selection.

Love everything about this place! I'm not a huge coffee drinker but the menu here and the pastry case rocks. We love stopping in whenever we get the chance.

They're tapping the first keg of Avery's Mephisopheles in Kansas. Get down there to support local businesses ....while sampling a 16% ABV beer :)

Also, don't drive drunk!

I agree with the others

When did Lola's start serving cup fulls of pretentiousness!?! You know, we've been doing just fine living west of Kasold for a while now.

Just having moved here from Lawrence, it was nice to find this place nearby. I was beginning to think Topeka had no culture....
Cute coffee shop with art on the walls and real baristas...comfy chairs, couches, and a nice, ecclectic atmosphere.
Of course they were out of green tea (it's on backorder?), which is really inexcuseable, but nonetheless....I will forgive them if they have it in stock next time. :)
If you want the flavor of downtown Lawrence, hang out here!

Interesting employees

An eclectic group of employees make this a fun place to stop. The coffee and baked goods are very good. The art of the walls ... not so much. But hey, the sign says coffee not art gallery.
