At Blackbird Espresso Bar and Bistro in the Fleming Place shopping center, your favorite coffees and teas are served by talented and friendly baristas. Just having moved here from Lawrence, it was nice to find this place nearby. I was beginning to think Topeka had no culture....
Cute coffee shop with art on the walls and real baristas...comfy chairs, couches, and a nice, ecclectic atmosphere.
Of course they were out of green tea (it's on backorder?), which is really inexcuseable, but nonetheless....I will forgive them if they have it in stock next time. :)
If you want the flavor of downtown Lawrence, hang out here!

An eclectic group of employees make this a fun place to stop. The coffee and baked goods are very good. The art of the walls ... not so much. But hey, the sign says coffee not art gallery.
