Casa Ramos is a family-owned restaurant featuring a cozy "rise-and-shine" decor, in the words of one employee. Descended from a Casa Ramos chain in California and first opened in Kansas in Emporia, the Topeka store serves authentic Mexican cuisine in a warm, relaxed and festive atmosphere. "If you want a taste of heaven, come to Casa Ramos," manager Alvaro Ramos says.
The family-oriented restaurant serves lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, while offering daily lunch and dinner specials. On Sundays, kids eat for 50 percent off. There are 99-cent margaritas Monday through Thursday and 99-cent Budweiser and Bud Light draws every day. Don't forget to look for the rubber chicken! (Updated 5.7.10)

There are so many great Mexican places in Topeka, but this place really stands out. Great food and atmosphere and the service is always great as well. They have menu items not found at other places which is nice too.
Best in Topeka

Best mexican place in town in my opinion. I recommend getting their specialty dishes like molajate or carnitas uropan...sp? The regular dishes are just about like everyone elses, but their specialty dishes are excellent. Their portions are large, so it is easy to share.
Great value for the serving size

Been here 3 or 4 times and the food is always good and the portions are extremely large. Service has been good each time. The only downside for us is their frozen maragritas may be the worst in town. Great beer special on some evenings. I do recomend this place as long as frozen margarita's are not a priority for the evening.
Good food, good service, huge plates of food

The menu is also huge, so there are lots of choices.
We had the pork carnitas, a wonderful combination of shredded pork, carmelized onions and a little green pepper. They were EXCELLENT! The rice and beans are OK, but nothing to write home about.
The table next to us had four orders of steak fajitas. The table could barely hold all the food and the smell of the sizzling steak, green peppers, and onions was over the top. Dude, we'll have fajitas next time or maybe the lamb shanks.
The service was really good. All the wait staff seem to look after all the tables, all the time. It seems if you scratch your head, someone asks if you need something.
Better at the smaller place

I like the smaller building, seems more cozy. From what I heard they had problems with the landlords at the one in Brookwood and decided to move to just one location (after they had opened this location) so not to have to deal with the problems at the other place. Can't blame them.
Their food is always good, we try and eat there at least every 1-2 months. You get alot for your money.
Awful

I love the bigger place that used to be in Brookwood shopping center, but since they downsized to the small place on Fairlawn it is not the same. I have tried it three times and cannot say anything good about it other than the service.
AWESOME!

My husband and I love this place. The service is quick, people extremely friendly and the most awesome food around. I recommend this restaurant to everyone, you won't be disappointed.

This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in Topeka. Friendly wait staff, good food and large proportions keep me coming back. Chili Colorado and Chili Verde are great - order the tress amigos platter and you can have both plus you will have enough leftovers for another entire meal.
Wonderful!

My family has been going to Casa Ramos ever since they were over in Brookwood. Probably the closest you will ever get to truly authentic Mexican food in the US and it is nearly impossible to leave hungry. The portions are huge. The owners and wait staff are the nicest in the Topeka restaurant business for certain. Try the Carnitas Uruapan. It's the best I've had north of the boarder.
One of our favorites!

Love coming to Casa Ramos! Not only is the food wonderful, but the staff is so friendly. I urge you to try this place if you haven't already done so. Try the cheesy dip, you can't go wrong!
