Chez Yasu has been offering classic French cuisine since 2002. Don't be intimidated by the foreign menu, however. Chef Yasushi Hatasawa promises he serves French cuisine with enough of an American twist to appeal to the midwest palette. If you're familiar with French cuisine, Chez Yasu won't disappoint. If you're used to more traditional midwestern favorites, try something new! Simple, casual, yet lovely and elegant atmosphere. Incredible menu and food, with generous portions. My friend's sea bass was perfection, as were another's seafood crepes. My beef and wine sauce was wonderful. Vichyssoise and goat cheese salad were remarkable. Dessert of creme brule with gran marnier infused crusted top was best I've had anywhere. Excellent service and attentive owner. What more could you ask for! Such a wonderful addition to Topeka. Will return always when back in town visiting.
Only improvement I would suggest would be to get cars further away from the building so patrons had more of a view. But parking is obviously tight and would probably be difficult to rearrange.

Chez Yasu is the best luxury restaurant in Topeka. In fact, it may be the only one. Topeka seems to be the fast-food capitol of the state, so it is so-o-o-o nice to have a really great, elegant restaurant to go to. The staff at Chez Yasu are always friendly and very efficient. And the food is to savor. We have never had a meal that we didn't enjoy. They also offer an excellent wine list. Support your locally-owned restaurants. We need to keep this one in Topeka!!
