Coyote Canyon is a favorite stop among Topeka buffet-goers because steak is always on the buffet. But the place is also popular for nightly specials.

Monday features an Italian kitchen themed buffet. Tuesday is Family Night. On Wednesday, enjoy a Mexican Fiesta. On Thursday, try the Asian favorites at the Orient Express. Friday features a seafood feast buffet.

Saturday is barbecue night, and the Sunday "Family Dinner Table" menu caters to the family feast people have come to expect for a Midwestern Sunday meal. Don't miss the breakfast buffet from 8-11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

A banquet room is available for reservation, except on weekends. (Updated 5.12.10)

We tried Coyote Canyon again and they still have not figured out that (if) they add too much water to the gravy - at some point it no longer resembles actual gravy. Think of it like catsup - add too much water and it becomes red soup.
I even asked a server for some thickening agent so I could make the white water into gravy to put on my potatoes. She came to our table to tell me they had changed the gravy out. I was elated so I went to get me some potatoes and the *changed out* gravy was like water also. Gravy should be at least as thick as catsup.
The selection of food at the hot bars was vast and tasty. Fish & chicken, MMMM. The grill even had huge hamburgers with buns along with steak. The desert bar was full of wonderful treats and it was a gathering place for many customers. Can you say,*Carrot Cake*? MMM The salad bar selections was enticing - so nice not to have just lettuce and dressing like some restaurant's salad bar.
We will return again, but probably walk on by the potatoes and gravy to fill up on meats.

I went there with some friends this last Saturday. Right at the start I found myself dissapointed as I was told there was no longer a senior discount on Saturdays. The salad bar was good, but I had to wait while an employee did some routine tidying up. Went to get chocolate milk, only to find it empty - mentioned that to what appeared to be a manager nearby and he simply continued talking on his cell phone. The meat (primarily riblets as the guy at the steak bar didn't seem to hear me) had apparently been out too long and were the consistency of card board. Even the dark meat fried chicken was dry. Wait staff seemed to be rather ambivalent. The soft ice cream had the consistency of what we used to call "snow ice cream." Overall a far cry from my last visit over a year ago. Too bad!!

My work group came here for lunch a while back ago. I don't think anyone was impressed. The selection was poor. I like to try a little of everything at a buffet, but there was hardly anything that looked good enough to eat. The only thing I had that I would say was "good" was the salad bar. Everything else was bland, mushy, unappetizing. The place was full of mostly senior citizens. Fortunately for them, the sensation of taste deminishes as you age. That must be the only way they can eat there regularly.

Has just gotten worse and worse!

The best part used to be the bakery, specifically the rolls. NOW its awful. I will not waste my money there again. The fried food, which I typically stay away from anyways, has a horrible after taste (like they don't change the grease often enough). I would spend your money elsewhere.

Food is terrible. Management is worse.

We stopped in here for breakfast on a Saturday morning and the bacon tasted exactly like cardboard. It was completely inedible and because bacon is the reason to go to a breakfast buffet, we asked for a refund for just my portion of the bill about 15 minutes after arriving. The manager was rude and insulting, commenting that because of my size, I obviously couldn't have resisted eating "anything". I won't go back here. (One of my dining mates did manage to get us a refund, though I don't know how.)

Loud and noisy here, but that is because so many people are taking advantage of the great value or unlimited choices and food. Your drink is included in the price which makes them an even better value than any other buffet. Noticeably cleaner than their competition which says a lot for the staff since the place is continuously packed.

Try the Weekend Breakfast Bar!!

This is our Favorite Buffet place. It used to be the Golden Corral but the salad bar and the cooked food is much better here.

Their Steaks are for the most part pretty good....not great but eatable. You can actually cut them with their steak knives. The Fried Chicken is excellent along with their Potatoes and Gravy.

We feel it is a good value and hit it about once a week.
