This is the newest addition to the Daylight Donuts family of Topeka. Opening in December 2013, this establishment serves other breakfast items besides donuts, such as biscuits and gravy. Also, lunch items, such as submarine sandwiches and soup, are also sold. The donuts are made fresh every morning at the 4201 S.W. 21st location and brought over. There are more than 40 varieties of donuts served here.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is part of a franchise founded in Dallas in 1941. The franchise is known for its “Lip Smackin’, Finger Lickin’, Rib Ticklin’, Knee Slapping’, Foot Stompin’, Great Tastin’” barbecue, paired with speedy service and inexpensive prices.
Specialties include Dickey’s signature beef brisket, which is slow smoked using an overnight cooking process, as well as southern pulled pork, fall off the bone pork ribs and Virginia-style ham. There is an extensive menu of homemade side items, including waffle iron fries, jalapeno beans, fried okra and mac & cheese, as well as a variety of catering options.

The Fairway Café provides a welcome stopping point on the 18-hole city golf course. The café offers your basic snack bar fare: burgers, brats, hot dogs, cold sandwiches, chips and beer. Weather permitting, the golf course is almost always open, with the exception of Christmas and Thanksgiving. Business at the Fairway Café is dependent on weather and customers, too. This small, upscale restaurant with about 25 tables can be found in the Capitol Plaza Hotel, featuring an open-air atmosphere where you can watch the kitchen crew work its magic. A breakfast and lunch buffet compliment the restaurant's eclectic menu. The customers range from hotel guests to Topeka's movers and shakers.
Breakfast is served from 6 - 11 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. and dinner from 4 - 10 p.m.

Five Guys was one of the last restaurant openings of 2014. As a part of the Crosswinds Commons, Five Guys joins other businesses, such as McAlister's Deli and Pie Five. Five Guys offers fast casual dining, with fresh (never frozen!) burgers and fries. The Topeka Five Guys location is the first in the states of Kansas or Missouri to offer milkshakes.
