Big 'Uns Grill

Opening in August 2013, the Atwood brothers said that this restaurant is perfect for carnivores, including ribs, brisket and burgers. They use no gas burners, and even cook the food on their own meat smoker. Check them out today!



Blind Tiger Brewery and Restaurant

417 S.W. 37th St., Topeka

The Blind Tiger opened in 1995 offering casual dining, "good food, friendly people and great beer." Every day the bar features nine beers on tap, including four handcrafted ales from the restaurant's microbrewery. The restaurant, which can handle large parties and has daily lunch and dinner specials, features midwestern favorites including Kansas City-style barbequed ribs and seasonally available buffalo burgers. Blue Moose Bar & Grill

Boss Hawg's Barbeque

2833 S.W. 29th St., Topeka

As its slogan says, Boss Hawg's has been "Horrifying Vegetarians Since 1995" with its delicious barbecue. The casual dining restaurant, located in the Brookwood Shopping Center and attached to Pigskin's Sports Bar, has won numerous state and regional awards, and has placed high in national and international rankings. Dickey's Barbecue Pit

609 N.W. Highway 24, Topeka

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is part of a franchise founded in Dallas in 1941. The franchise is known for its “Lip Smackin’, Finger Lickin’, Rib Ticklin’, Knee Slapping’, Foot Stompin’, Great Tastin’” barbecue, paired with speedy service and inexpensive prices.

Specialties include Dickey’s signature beef brisket, which is slow smoked using an overnight cooking process, as well as southern pulled pork, fall off the bone pork ribs and Virginia-style ham. There is an extensive menu of homemade side items, including waffle iron fries, jalapeno beans, fried okra and mac & cheese, as well as a variety of catering options.



Famous Dave's

1625 S.W. Wanamaker, Topeka

Famous Dave's is all about casual, finger-licking good barbecue, featuring hickory-smoked St. Louis-style spare ribs, Texas beef brisket, Georgia chopped pork, roasted chicken, sandwiches and burgers -- all of which can be enjoyed with Famous Dave's signature barbecue sauces. Grover's Smokehouse

1217 S.W. Gage Blvd., Topeka

Since 1986, people driving through the intersection of S.W. Huntoon and Gage Boulevard have been met with the distinct aroma of smoked meat coming from Grover’s Smokehouse.

Although the owners had decided to close down the restaurant and re-open as a new place in 2013, the community reached out and begged them to stay, so they decided to keep the barbecue joint.



Henry’s Grill

2047 S.W. Topeka Blvd., Topeka

Operated by Black Dog BarBQue since 2008, Henry’s Grill located upstairs at Topeka Harley Davidson, 21st & Topeka Blvd., is a very popular place to enjoy some of the best smoked BBQ lunches in the northeast Kansas area. Turkey, Pulled Pork, and Brisket sandwiches are available Tuesday thru Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. and running til 2 p.m. Side dishes include baked beans with bacon and beer, cole slaw, and Topeka favorite “Cheez ‘n Tators". Lunch is served with a different daily special; “Smoked Meatloaf” on Tuesday, “Burnt Ends” on Tuesday and Wednesday, “Smoked Sausage Chunks” on Thursday and on Friday and Saturday “Baby Back Rib".

Breakfast is served fresh, not frozen or processed, Saturday mornings from 8-10:30 a.m. and includes made from scratch biscuits and gravy, fresh bacon & cheez egg omelet combo, sausage biscuits, handmade waffles, toast and jelly, and their customer favorite “Black Dog Sausage, Egg and Cheez” breakfast sandwich.
