Coyote Canyon

Coyote Canyon is a favorite stop among Topeka buffet-goers because steak is always on the buffet. But the place is also popular for nightly specials.

Monday features an Italian kitchen themed buffet. Tuesday is Family Night. On Wednesday, enjoy a Mexican Fiesta. On Thursday, try the Asian favorites at the Orient Express. Friday features a seafood feast buffet.

Saturday is barbecue night, and the Sunday "Family Dinner Table" menu caters to the family feast people have come to expect for a Midwestern Sunday meal. Don't miss the breakfast buffet from 8-11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Dillons

When you just can't decide where to go for lunch or what to take home for dinner, the new Dillons store in Fairlawn Plaza is sure to have an answer.

Opened on Nov. 15, 2009, Dillons features a food-service area teeming with options. The Bistro offers sandwiches and home-style meals -- including fried or rotisserie chicken -- along with chef-made meals that change from day-to-day. There are separate salad, soup and sushi bars, a Chinese kitchen, a brick-oven pizzeria, a Mediterranean food bar, and Seattle's Best Coffee.

There's also a breakfast buffet from 7 to 10 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 6 to 10 a.m. Sunday, and, of course, a full-service bakery that offers individual desserts. Self-service coffee and soft drinks are available, too.

Falling Water Grille and Lounge

This small, upscale restaurant with about 25 tables can be found in the Capitol Plaza Hotel, featuring an open-air atmosphere where you can watch the kitchen crew work its magic. A breakfast and lunch buffet compliment the restaurant's eclectic menu. The customers range from hotel guests to Topeka's movers and shakers.

Breakfast is served from 6 - 11 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. and dinner from 4 - 10 p.m.

Next to the restaurant, the open-air Water’s Edge Lounge serves from 2-10 p.m Monday through Friday and 2-11 p.m. on weekends. It features delicious appetizers as well as perhaps the best beverage selection in Topeka, including an upscale wine list, Bella Verde vodka and Stella Artois beer on tap to name a few. Golden Eagle Casino, located six miles west of Horton on K-20 highway, offers a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner options for hungry gamblers.

Breakfast is served from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. daily, with a buffet on Sunday. There's a lunch buffet from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, a dinner buffet from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and a lunch/dinner buffet from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Dinner, which ranges from $10.95 to $14.95, follows a different theme each night - Ribeye steak on Monday, seafood on Tuesday, tacos and potato bar for $5.00 on Wednesday, steak and shrimp on Thursday, catfish on Friday, prime rib and barbecue on Saturday, and homestyle favorites on Sunday.
