Buzzard’s Pizza flew into Topeka in February 2009 with a new shop featuring a drive-through window and a long list of toppings that create a dizzying amount of pizza possibilities – all on hand-tossed crusts. This family chain – with shops in Holton, Lyndon and Pomona – offers usual toppings like buffalo meat, barbecue beef and shrimp. Plus, it offers salads, subs, buffalo wings, sandwiches and domestic beers. (Updated 4.12.10)

Cici's Pizza serves a constant buffet of pizza featuring favorites like cheese, sausage and pepperoni juxtaposed with specialities like Macaroni-and-Cheese pizza, Taco pizza and no-sauce cheese pizza. If pizza isn't your style, try the marinara or alfredo pasta and salad combinations on the buffet. For desert, enjoy a delicious brownie, cinnamon stick or dessert pizza. When you just can't decide where to go for lunch or what to take home for dinner, the new Dillons store in Fairlawn Plaza is sure to have an answer.

Opened on Nov. 15, 2009, Dillons features a food-service area teeming with options. The Bistro offers sandwiches and home-style meals -- including fried or rotisserie chicken -- along with chef-made meals that change from day-to-day. There are separate salad, soup and sushi bars, a Chinese kitchen, a brick-oven pizzeria, a Mediterranean food bar, and Seattle's Best Coffee.

There's also a breakfast buffet from 7 to 10 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 6 to 10 a.m. Sunday, and, of course, a full-service bakery that offers individual desserts. Self-service coffee and soft drinks are available, too.

Seating is available indoors in the Bistro area and, when the weather is nice, outdoors as well. (Updated 5.24.10)
