Just 15 minutes north of Topeka, Prairie Band Casino, a mile west of US-75 highway, has three choices for your dining pleasure.

The Buffalo Grill is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, offering inexpensive soups, salads, sandwiches and burgers in the hotel lobby.

The Longhouse Buffet has breakfast, lunch and dinner for a more moderate cost.

For the big spender, there is Three Fires Steakhouse, which offers high stakes fine dining. Steaks are $19 to $36, a petit filet of bison is $38 and lobster tail is $30. There also are soups and salads for $4 to $5.

Puffy’s Steak and Ice House

215 Main Street, Maple Hill

Opened in June 1987, Puffy's has been voted among the best steakhouses in the area. With customers from all over northeast Kansas including Topeka, Manhattan, Council Grove and Emporia, Puffy's is family-owned and can seat more than 300 people. You can find more than steaks on the menu at Puffy's. Puffy's also has pork chops, shrimp, chicken and chicken fried steak, burgers and fries. A second location opened in 2008 in Alma, 123 W. 3rd, serving lunches daily.



Texas Roadhouse

5901 S.W. Huntoon, Topeka

Texas Roadhouse has featured great service and great food in an atmosphere that is both lively and casual since its opening in 2004. Don't miss the hand-cut steaks, tender rib meat that falls off the bone, made-from-scratch sides and fresh-baked bread. While you wait, munch on peanuts and toss the shells on the floor.
