Todd Howell's exciting new sports bar & restaurant opened in the west end of Fairlawn Plaza in April 2011. Howell, a partner in Bullfrog's Live for nine years, has created a spectacular new place that holds more than 300 people and has 38 50-inch flat screen TVS as well as a 10-foot HD projector TV. On the weekends Lazy Toad will have live music.
The restaurant features home style food with favorites such as fried chicken and meatloaf as well as New York-style pizza as well as upscale bar food.
Look for the addition of an outdoor patio with seating of about 100.

Marco Smith, part-owner of El Charro, had always wanted to open a second location in Topeka. He and his wife Savanna realized that dream with the opening of Los Charros in August 2010. The restaurant is nestled in the corner of the Gage Center shopping complex and is easily accessible from Gage Drive and Huntoon Street.
Signature dishes include fajitas and Popeye's Chicken (made with spinach). Mouth-watering 99-cent margaritas are on special Monday - Thursday, as well as on Saturdays. A spacious dining room and eye-catching bar area are just icing on the cake.
After months of working to get the restaurant open, sisters Imelda and Irene Panuco opened their dream restaurant in August 2014. They offer a wide variety of homemade Mexican food, great drinks and are conveniently located right across the street from Washburn University.
Established in 1932, McFarland's is the oldest continuously run restaurant in Topeka. It offers casual fine dining for its loyal customers, who can enjoy an atmosphere in which they can eat and carry on a conversation without a lot of background noise. There are two rooms that can be reserved for private parties -- one seating 30 people and the other seating 70.
Michelle's Lounge, inside the Holiday Inn Holidome at 6th and Fairlawn, features good dinners in a casual atmosphere. The lounge is primarily motel-driven, but the public is welcome. Mikey’s serves as town restaurant, bar and information hub in Rossville – a place for local residents to gather as well as folks passing through on US-24.
The place serves up plenty of menu options at reasonable prices and even offers a kids menu. Among the dishes coming out of the kitchen are simple items like chicken strips, patty melts, Phillies and Mikey’s Cheeseburger along with hearty favorites like the chicken fried steak dinner and steak dinner. There’s also a variety of salads on the menu. Beer is a good buy at $2.50 a bottle.

This restaurant is one of the newest openings in 2014! There is a lunch buffet, along with brunch every Sunday. The buffet includes items that are not on the menu, which is a surprise to the owners and to the guests! Owner Madan Rattan said that all of the guests should be curious about trying new dishes.
The Moose Lodge is a North Topeka landmark offering full-service dining for members and guests on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings. The Moose, which supports veterans activities and the JROTC program at Topeka High, also holds separate pancake and taco feeds once a month that are open to the public (check the roadside sign for dates).
