McFarland's Restaurant

Established in 1932, McFarland's is the oldest continuously run restaurant in Topeka. It offers casual fine dining for its loyal customers, who can enjoy an atmosphere in which they can eat and carry on a conversation without a lot of background noise. There are two rooms that can be reserved for private parties -- one seating 30 people and the other seating 70.



Millennium Café at the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library

1515 S.W. 10th St., Topeka

Millennium Café opened in 2001 with the opening of the new Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library, designed by internationally-known architect Michael Graves. The cafe offers library workers and visitors a quick, casual and usually quiet place to sit and enjoy a bite to eat or relax with a cup of coffee. It caters inside the library, and links from the library's Web site at www.tscpl.org will bring you more information about the cafe, including the week's menu. On the Border Mexican Grill and Cantina

On the Border, which opened in 2005, serves your favorite Mexican dishes prepared in a Tex-Mex fashion. Enjoy specialty fajitas, tacos or Build Your Own Burrito. If you're counting calories, choose from the Border Smart menu featuring items with 750 or less calories, 25g or less of fat, and 8g or less of saturated fat.



Pad Restaurant

1730 N.W. Topeka Blvd., Topeka

The Pad is a Topeka tradition. Enjoy delicious burgers, popular pork tenderloin sandwiches, other sandwiches and a salad bar. The Pad cooks at fast-food speeds with taste that tops what you'll find at a fast-food chain. For sit-down diners, enjoy a salad bar for lunch or dinner. Then top off the meal with soft-serve ice cream or pie.

Paisano's Ristorante

Paisano's offers southern Italian cuisine, which means its selections are built around homemade sauces often featuring seafood and are served in large portion sizes. The entrees are so good you must be careful that you don't fill up on the bottomless fresh salad, bread and made-from-scratch soups.

Paisano's also has an early bird special Monday through Friday. Entrees are half-price with the purchase of a drink for everyone who is seated by 11:30 a.m.

They make anything Bambino size on request, for the little ones.

The Topeka location in this national chain opened in 2000 and has been a repeat "Best of Topeka" winner.

Call and fax-in orders are accepted with no minimum purchase required. Orders can usually be ready within 20 to 30 minutes, but the staff can't guarantee it will be done at a specific time.
