Formerly located in the Total Home Concepts complex, Flint Hills BBQ moved to it's current location at 400 SW 29th in December of 2009. Owner Jamie Norwood encourages everyone to stop by, say "Hi" and check out some of the best barbecue in northeast Kansas at their new spot. Their "BBQ with a passion" has a loyal following.
Featuring Big Rick's BBQ sauce that is sweet and zesty, Flint Hills is sure to please even the most finicky barbecue aficionado looking for a quick lunch or a relaxing dinner. Try the burnt ends or a two-meat combo, and don't forget the cole slaw and baked beans. (Updated 5.20.10)

If BBQ lovers all knew about Flint Hills BBQ there would be a crowd of people at their door all the time.
Everything is excellent, the beef, pork, beans, cole slaw, sauce and chips.
Generous portions of everything, low prices and excellent friendly service.
Topeka finally has a REAL BBQ joint!
We don't need to go to KC to get good BBQ anymore.

The BBQ is awesome! Whoever smokes the meat really knows what they are doing. I have tried the Babyback ribs, burnt ends, and pulled pork and will never go anywhere else for BBQ again! They also added more to the kids menu to give them more choices! Keep up the good work! We will definately be repeat customers!

What a refreshing place to have a Sunday lunch! We did not even know this place was back there, but heard about them on the radio (106.9) & we arrived shortly after they opened at 11:00am and were greeted with a friendly smile, delightful service, and a very clean atmosphere!
And the BubbaQ... was it ever delicious! My husband and I each ordered different meat sandwiches, cut them in half to share and were both delighted! The buns were soft & fresh, the meat plentiful, & the "side" fries were fresh & hot, crisp on the outside & flaky on the inside. This is definitely a different approach to BBQ, and we will visit here again.

Eat in, carry out, cater it. More good BBQ for Topeka. This location is not the easiest to find. But the service is great. Worthy of a try, and your repeat business.
