When I post I usually just review the food like you started to do. If your going to get all personal why not let everyone know the details of exactly what happened. Stop leading us on.

I was going to leave this alone, but I have now changed my mind! We have been going to this restaurant for the past four years, when they added the new steaks and a good wine menu we started dining in for dinner! We have brought in a few guest's from out of town who have been very impressed. We have even had great conversation with the old management team who seemed to represent the restaurant and owners in a very good way. In the past our company has done business with Steve and Mary so we really wanted to see it succeed! The other day our lunch group went in and they had stopped serving the great cheesy Biscuits, what a shame! Then we find out they have changed management, no big deal to us until we get the whole story from the new manager! Are you kidding, why go and tell people that story about people who no longer work there? Out of curiosity we had a couple of para's get on the internet and see if there were charges filed? We could not find any so we assume there are none! So this is just a case of Defamation of Character! After doing business with the Hutchinson's in the past I would of thought they had more class than this! We have talked to a few different sets of our friends who have the pleasure of hearing the same set of allegations as our group was privileged enough to hear about over lunch, CLASSLESS! We will take our business elsewhere for now! Even though Defamation of Character suits are hard to win, I'm sure a few of the ambulance chasers here in town would love a shot at this one!
Fantastic!

I thought we had excellent service. The new manager came to visit with us and introduced herself, we enjoyed talking with her, she has some wonderful ideas. The food was excellent, I had been told that already, so we decided to try it out. I was not sorry, we took a handful of business cards so that we can help spread the word that there is someplace other than Wanamaker to have a great meal!
good food with out the wait of wanamaker

The right place to go to get one of the best steaks in town without the hasle of West Topeka traffic. The steaks have great flavor and can almost be cut with a fork. The Kansan also has the best philly, hands down to any other place that serves them. While you are waiting for your food, you can brush up on your Kansas celebrity history. Service can be touch and go depending on how busy they are. But is always more fun to be able to sit at your table and wait compaired to waiting for one to come open after an hour. When your done eating it is always nice to be able to catch a live performaces from local talent in the basement.
Great!!!

We must of gotten a different server than moonmirror. The service was very good this evening! Our server's name was Hollie I believe and she did a great job! The steaks were awesome and they had a good beer selection! Atmosphere was not as cozy as some of the places in town but that could be due to the fact that we were one of 3 tables in the restaurant. I'm not sure how much confidence I have in this site, they rated Golden Corral the "Best of Topeka", I'm certain who ever gave them that honor has not tried the Kansan Grill, the Creekstone steaks they have may be the best I have ever tasted! Well worth the money and a great addition to downtown Topeka. I hope people do not see the Golden Corral honors and think that is the best Topeka has to offer. We also loved the large bull over the front of the building, but you need to cut the trees so people can see the bull!

I went to the new restaurant last monday for dinner and absolutely loved the food. The portions were beyond satisfactory and the flavor was excellent. On to the service, the servers were rude and unattentive. Both of the girls working were loud with their personal conversations and rarely came to check on our dinning experience. I may go back for the food, but will probably wait for a few months with hopes they change out the servers.
Good food, bad service...

Went here around 5pm on a weekday. The place was completely empty, except for the waitresses, hostess, and bartender.
We walked in, and stood around waiting to be seated for a couple of minutes while the hostess finished her giggling conversation with her co-workers. She begrudgingly seated us with an annoyed "right this way". Sorry to interrupt your playtime.
The waitress was better, but a bit aloof, and rarely came back for refills, etc.
Kudos to the chef however, good food, big portions for the price.

Maybe CJOnline can spell their current name correctly (Rendezvous, not Rendevous).

We had an office party here yesterday (Dec 10) and the service was excellent. Most of us went through the buffet, and the food was pretty good (except for the fried chicken which was extremely dry). A sign on the door says the name will be changed soon (to the Kansas Grille?) with possibly some other changes...not yet specified. So, stayed tuned as they say for further developments.

Quickly becoming a afterwork hangout in downtown Topeka. The lunch buffet is always fresh and the dinner menu has lots of tasty choices. They also have live music after work on Friday.

vintage decor - they didn't change a thing when they moved in. what's with the acres of empty floor space up front?
