This gas station convenience store fills up North Topeka with fried chicken, biscuits and gravy and plenty of other menu choices. Petro Deli favorites include the super-popular gizzards, livers and chicken – all fried in a delicious batter bound to make you want more. The place also serves corndogs, egg rolls, breakfast burritos and breakfast sandwiches. Prairie Band Casino and Resort

Just 15 minutes north of Topeka, Prairie Band Casino, a mile west of US-75 highway, has three choices for your dining pleasure.

The Buffalo Grill is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, offering inexpensive soups, salads, sandwiches and burgers in the hotel lobby.

The Longhouse Buffet has breakfast, lunch and dinner for a more moderate cost.

For the big spender, there is Three Fires Steakhouse, which offers high stakes fine dining. Steaks are $19 to $36, a petit filet of bison is $38 and lobster tail is $30. There also are soups and salads for $4 to $5.

Reed's Ringside Sports Bar & Grill

Reed's stepped into the Topeka sports bar ring in 2005. The place is owned by former professional boxing brothers Derrick and Damon Reed, who make sure there's a great view of televised games and bouts just about anywhere inside Reed's. Sac and Fox Casino

1322 US-75 highway, Powhattan

Sac and Fox Casino, located in Brown County, offers breakfasts, soups, salads, burgers in the Deli. Prices range from $2.50 for a hot dog to $6.25 for a double cheeseburger.

There are two important things to know before going to the Sasnak North: It's a strip club, and it serves free hot dogs. Owner Irvin Metz, who opened Sasnak North in 1952, likes to keep it simple: Hire attractive dancers, sell 3.2 beer and wine coolers, offer free hot dogs and have a good time. "We're like your neighborhood bar with dancers," an employee said. "We're very friendly here." (Updated 2/23/09)



Silver Lake Chinese Restaurant

The long-time Silver Lake Chinese Restaurant keeps customers waiting all week long until it throws open its doors at 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights. Within 10 minutes, all the tables are full, says owner Raymond Sun. “Very, very busy,” he said.



Sonic Drive In

This national chain serves fast food hot and fresh, including burgers, corndogs and chicken sandwiches. It also offers an array of icy treats, which can be brought to your stall by a carhop or served at one of Sonic's picnic tables. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served all-day long.
