Hatfield's Bar & Grill at West Ridge Lanes

Not far from the clatter of falling bowling pins, Hatfields offers nourishment to bowlers and sports fans. The kitchen cranks out a basic menu – chicken tenders, pizza, burgers, hotdogs and lots of appetizers, including mozzarella sticks, nachos and popcorn chicken. Wash it down with a soda or something else from the full bar. Hatfields offers its own seating and stays busiest with bowlers – who often drop in to wind down with drinks. Hawaiian Shave Ice

Located next to the entrance to Straight Water near the center of Fleming Place Shopping Center, Hawaiian Shaved Ice is a perfect treat. Made with tropical fruit flavors, Hawaiian Ice, also known as Shave ice (not Shaved ice), is much different than a sno-cone, in that it is made by a machine that shaves ice rather than grinding it like a sno-cone machine.

Operated by Black Dog BarBQue since 2008, Henry’s Grill located upstairs at Topeka Harley Davidson, 21st & Topeka Blvd., is a very popular place to enjoy some of the best smoked BBQ lunches in the northeast Kansas area. Turkey, Pulled Pork, and Brisket sandwiches are available Tuesday thru Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. and running til 2 p.m. Side dishes include baked beans with bacon and beer, cole slaw, and Topeka favorite “Cheez ‘n Tators". Lunch is served with a different daily special; “Smoked Meatloaf” on Tuesday, “Burnt Ends” on Tuesday and Wednesday, “Smoked Sausage Chunks” on Thursday and on Friday and Saturday “Baby Back Rib".

Breakfast is served fresh, not frozen or processed, Saturday mornings from 8-10:30 a.m. and includes made from scratch biscuits and gravy, fresh bacon & cheez egg omelet combo, sausage biscuits, handmade waffles, toast and jelly, and their customer favorite “Black Dog Sausage, Egg and Cheez” breakfast sandwich.



Herman's Beef and Sausage House

Herman's Meat Shop is not only a great place to buy the meat you need for the week but also a well-loved lunch spot for the North Topeka crowd. Lunch specials change daily but keep a consistent price that is easy on your wallet. Hours listed are for lunch only. The meat shop opens early and stays open later for your shopping needs. The store hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.



Hot Java

Opened in October 2008 by Michelle and David Boyer, Hot Java occupies part of the former Mr. D's bar building in the 3300 block of S.W. Gage.

Hot Pockets

As long as the bar is open, the kitchen is serving food at Hot Pockets, which has offered eight pool tables with continuous games since 2006.

Although Hot Pockets is a full bar establishment, minors are allowed in until 8 p.m. and later when accompanied by a parent.
