Established in 1932, McFarland's is the oldest continuously run restaurant in Topeka. It offers casual fine dining for its loyal customers, who can enjoy an atmosphere in which they can eat and carry on a conversation without a lot of background noise. There are two rooms that can be reserved for private parties -- one seating 30 people and the other seating 70.
Michelle's Lounge, inside the Holiday Inn Holidome at 6th and Fairlawn, features good dinners in a casual atmosphere. The lounge is primarily motel-driven, but the public is welcome. This restaurant is one of the newest openings in 2014! There is a lunch buffet, along with brunch every Sunday. The buffet includes items that are not on the menu, which is a surprise to the owners and to the guests! Owner Madan Rattan said that all of the guests should be curious about trying new dishes.
The Moose Lodge is a North Topeka landmark offering full-service dining for members and guests on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings. The Moose, which supports veterans activities and the JROTC program at Topeka High, also holds separate pancake and taco feeds once a month that are open to the public (check the roadside sign for dates).
