Reed's stepped into the Topeka sports bar ring in 2005. The place is owned by former professional boxing brothers Derrick and Damon Reed, who make sure there's a great view of televised games and bouts just about anywhere inside Reed's. Don't forget to ask about discounts. Reed's offers plenty of deals, including for military, senior citizens, Seaman school staff and Goodyear workers.

Great food and drinks are decent.

Was there recently and the music was acid rock. Huh? Who in their right mind wants to hear that late afternoon/early evening? LMAO

Asked the waitress who picks the music and she said she did. Crazy.

Had coffee and it was HORRIBLE! It was poured from the bottom of the container and strong and rotten tasting. I asked to take off the bill and was refused.

The wait staff that visit was less than average and not attentive at all.

Note to wait staff: if you aren't tipped appropriately it is because you failed in your service.

I usually don't write reviews, but after reading some of the negative stuff, I figured maybe my 2 cents is worth 2 cents. I have been visiting Reed's (Hunters Ridge) for awhile. I visit maybe 2 or 3 times a month, it is usually during the lunch hours. I have always appreciated the staff and service from the waitresses, bartenders, and even the kitchen staff. The food has always been good and prompt. The staff has gotten to know my ordering habits and always seem happy to see me. I would recommend Reed's to anyone. Wether coming alone or with friends or family. But since I usually come alone, this probably won't help their business. Matter of fact, I think I'm gonna head over there now.

Horrible service always

Horrible bartender, horrible waitresses. Don't bother going to Reed's Ringside. Big waste of time. Its a racist bar. So, if you're anything other than white, good luck. The owner sits at a table, gets drunk, and then acts a bartender from time to time. The nasty green needs to go. Topeka can do better...wait...not really. Reed's Ringside = A Joke.

Pretty arrogant commentary to djquik1 on his review, he gave you an honest opinion on his experience. with an attitude like that from an owner of a business, i won't be patronizing it either

I always thought this bar was owned by Damon Reed, Found out playing pool with a guy that the Reeds is owned by and named after a boxing promoter/cut man named Brian Reed.

Great fun!

My wife and I and another couple had dinner here last night. The place was doing a pretty good business! I thought the service was very good! We were waited on very soon after sitting down. I had the babyback ribs. They were very good! My wife had the hamburger and said it was very good too. It was a nice place for a sports bar type of place. It didn't seem as noisy as some that I have been to.

Would we go back? I would be happy to!

well this is the first time I have been back on here in a while. I am actually really happy that you will not attend either of my families establishments. I do not appreciate anyone calling my fellow Topekan's trashy. You are one that would not be accepted as a good person and It is pretty wild to me that you could call people trashy without knowing them. Did they have long hair were they a little under dressed? Once again my people are awesome and we take care of one another. We have incredible food incredible staff and a clean spot. If that is Cocky or conceded so be it. God bless you I mean that. I just really don't need one bad apple spoiling the barrel. People want to have a good time and feel safe and at both Reeds that is what we aim to do along with good food and service. True sometimes this doesn't meet the standards of some and some times people just look to make waves and cause trouble. Damon Reed, I have no problem signing my name, I do not hide from anyone.

Well like I said I did not see them or remember seeing them wear Polos. I do know that when we took over lakeside they were not. Unless they were back from 2003 and the Polo was wore off. As far as the bath rooms not being cleaned one dirty person can cause a mess or a child really quick. We have never had less than 100 percent on our Food inspection and this goes back to our Buddys Hamburger days. I believe you can check on this. My mother is a clean freak. As far as a hair I apologize what did you do at McBs? Did you clean the bathrooms there on a regular? My family has been in the restaurant business for 60 years, successfully i may add so we must be doing something correct. I am sorry if at that one time it was not to your liking I really am. I am a firm believer in second chances maybe you are not but if you look deep in your heart I am sure you will find your next visit much better. If not there is always McDonalds. P.S. as far as the clientele I take that very offensive that my fellow North Topekanns are trashy, we may not have the money that you do but we are good hard working people and take care of one another. Maybe that is why we are up $500,000 dollars a year from when we took it over from McBs? Or maybe there staff was not quite as friendly as ours. I love North Topeka and North Topekan people they have been great to me. I was born and raised here and will die here. I do like all the people out South also this is just my home.

I actually used to work at McB's as a bartender several years ago(2003) and the staff did wear polo's. Now onto the clientele and staff, last time I came into your establishment...mind you it was a year ago, the staff wasn't attentive and the clientele was pretty trashy. Being in there at 7-8pm and the bathrooms being trashed and finding a human hair in my food was more than enough for me not to visit your establishment again. If you have cleaned house since then, good for you, I wish you well on your business venture. I just don't feel the need to drive out of my way up north to come back. I have not been to other bar, and have been told to give it a try so I might. But if I find that is a reminder of the experience from the North facility....I won't be back there and will post a blog entry of my findings as well.
