The Topeka Civic Theatre, at S.W. 8th and Oakley, is the place to go in Topeka for dinner and a show. Founded in 1936, the TCT now makes its home in the former Gage Elementary School – constructed in the late 1920s and notable for both its architecture and historic ties to the 1954 landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision in Brown v. Board of Education. The building now houses two theaters, and a wide variety of shows featuring local talents are staged there, from musicals to dramas.
Founded in 1905, the Topeka Country Club offers a mouth-watering menu – the perfect accompaniment to a round of 18 holes on the private club’s golf course, a swim in the Olympic-size pool or a match of tennis on one of four outdoor or three indoor courts.
Now open in their new location at 220 SW 29th St., Tuptim Thai is a hidden gem of fine dining in Topeka. Serving a full menu of Thai favorites, Tuptim Thai will leave you craving their wonderful mix of sweet, hot and salty flavors until your next visit. Afraid of spicy food? Tuptim Thai can make any dish flavored mild, medium, hot, Thai hot or even hotter for the less-sensitive patrons.
