Formerly named the Coffee Break Café, this shop opened Feb. 29, 2008. The Roundabout Café takes its new name from the controversial roundabout constructed at the intersection of 21st and Urish.
Located in Urish Center, the cafe features fresh-baked pastries and desserts as well as salads, sandwiches, soups and coffee drinks. The ambience is European, the cuisine fresh and tasty. The café also features a variety of platters that can be delivered to your home or business.
Beginning Feb. 23, 2009, longtime talk radio host Jim Caits began broadcasting his 8-10 a.m. show “Jim Caits@CJOnline” live from the Roundabout Café. The show can be streamed live from www.cjonline.com and an archive of past shows can be found at www.cjonline.com/radio/jimcates. (Updated 2/20/09)

With its new name to reflect the opening of the roundabout at 21st and Urish, the Roundabout Cafe has retained its charm, excellent food, and wonderful service. Come back and support this fine restaurant which has been put through the ringer, and came back stronger.

If you authentic French pastries (I had a French exchange student visiting and she said it was just like home) at a reasonable price, served quickly and with a smile, come to the Coffee Break Cafe. It's easy to get to from 10th or Huntoon and Urish, and still accessible from 21st near Urish, by going down Broadview near the roadblock signs east of 21st & Urish (remember it is a residential area, so please go slow) down to 17th street, and west to Urish, then up towards 21st. The entrance to the shopping area is north of 21st. You are in for a treat, surrounded by beautiful pictures, should you choose to eat in their spacious dining area.

I am not employed there, nor do I have a vested interest. I'm just a neighbor from 18th & Urish who wants to keep the businesses in that shopping center successful, so that they can survive the construction.

Thinker

Hang in there during the construction of the new roundabout

This is a classy place...with good food and service. Sure hope it can survive the months of detours and construction (for the new roundabout).
