Located across from the Lake Shawnee Dam, The Shack has been serving up some of Topeka's tastiest burgers for years, using fresh beef that they grind each day.
There is plenty to do at The Shack besides eating, with lots of cold beverages available as well as pool tables and video games. The Shack also has some of the nicest waitresses and bartenders in town.
The kitchen is open from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. (Updated 2/23/09)

I made the mistake of ordering a double cheeseburger. It was huge, but sure was tasty. Onion rings were great too. A must-visit for the burger aficianado.

After a ballgame or a round of golf few things are better than a pitcher of beer and burger at the Shack. It's smokey and greasy, like a bar should be!!! Probably the best burger on the SE side of town.
