I called the restaurant manager, and spoke to her with me experience mentioned below. After I explained to her, she was very apologetic, and see where I was coming from with my perspective. I suggested they should have a separate to go menu, so people know what to expect up front, and know what they are paying for, she agree that's what she should do in the futre.

So issue is now resolved...

I went there to have a to go order for lunch today, ordered a pad Thai, on their menu it clearly stated that all lunch orders includes a choice of soup or salad, and appertizer. So when I place my order, I asked what kind of soup they have today, the waitress told me I won't get the soup because I am having to go order rather than dine in. But yet I am charged the same price as dine in, but I don't get the soup. I expressed that's ridicoulous!! She then said they prefer customers dine in, so they will get the soup, but clearly that's not mention on their menu for dine in ONLY!!!
How can they force customers to dine in, and charged me $8.15 for just a tiny yeah I mean TINY dish of noodles, without the soup!!!!!

VERY UNPLEASANT EXPERIECNE!!!!! WON'T GO BACK!!!!!

Food is Great - Hours ARE NOT!

On 2 or maybe even 3 separate occasions summer 2011, on Saturdays, we attempted to dine at Tuptim Thai only to drive all the way to the restaurant and find the place was closed. A handwritten sign on the door explained they were closed due to a family affair or private party that would last multiple days. We have not been back since and would suggest one call before driving all the way to the restaurant, especially if coming from out of town. It's too bad since we had been dining there for the past 7 years.

Need to Try

My wife and I been steady customers for eight years. We tell every one that this is the best place for lunch or supper. They are always busy and we go early to miss the noon rush. The wait staff and food is excellent. So try this place once and you will be back.

Can't touch this, best in the land!

Best fare in Topeka! I am a foodie, TT is best Thai within a 500 mile radius. Zen Zero in Lawrence is #2, Tuptim Thai is so delicious and consistent- THIS IS WHERE A LOT OF RESTAURANTS FAIL. Dishes at TT are exactly as you had on your last visit, I would not survive the midwest without this restaurant. My husband cannot eat spicy food, I like nothing else -we both love TT! He went with 2 buddies last week and the guys had never experienced Thai, we are all going tonight -thank you Tuptim Thai! Lovely waitresses, so genuine and kind!

GREAT!!!

Our entire family ate at Tuptim Thai over the weekend. We live in Lawrence and had heard about this place from some Topeka friends and had never made it over. Well, Saturday we did and it was absolutely scrumptious. Lawrence has a look of great restaurants, but nothing like Tuptim Thai. Nothing even close actually. We'll be back and we'll tell our friends!!!!!!!

I have tried a number of dishes from Tuptim Thai and have yet to find one that isn't wonderful. My favorite order are the fresh spring rolls and panang curry with beef, HOT! So good! The money bags are good and if you are in the mood for a fruity cocktail, try one of Tuptim's, delish!

A Must Try

This is the absolute best, definitely something for Topeka to be proud of and support. I love everything I’ve tried there, but there is nothing on heaven or earth to compare with those money bags.

Get the money bags!!

This place is always a good choice. It is nice not having to deal with the madhouse crowds and the the fact that it is not a chain only sweetens the deal.

Best place to eat ever!!!

I've eaten at Tuptim Thai for over 5 years and tried virtually everything on the menu. Have experimented with mild to medium plus spice levels. Love the Thai iced tea, especially on hot summer days. Staff and owners are wonderful and strive to please. If you want Chinese, go to a Chinese place. Thai is similar but also much different, more layers of flavors, subtle touches, different seasonings and decorative on the plate. We are extremely lucky to have this quality of restaurant in Topeka. Prices are very reasonable. Disabled parking is literally at the door.

Amazing Food! Thai hot all the way!

My husband and I have been going to Tuptim Thai for the past 3 years, it is our favorite place! I have been to many Thai places throughout the country and this place is the best. The pad thai is great, the panang curry is wonderful, the spring rolls rock, the money bags are money. We haven't had anything that we haven't loved. It amazes me that Topeka can have something this great, I am so glad we do!

Great restaurant choice for dinner or lunch. Definitely the best Thai for 50 miles (yes, better than the Thai restaurants in Lawrence).

Yeah, It's That Hot!!!

The hot and the Thai hot are not for gringos. Try at your own risk. Tired of Chinese but still want asian? Then go with Tuptim Thai. A great change of pace. A great lunch menu, too.

Great pad thai, I travel all over the county and try to hit up as many thai places as I can, but Tuptim Thai is so far the best. Just the right about of everything. One of the few places that lets me decide how spicy to make it.

Try the Pad Thai with shrimp (also available in chicken, beef, pork and tofu). It's spicy, sweet and sour, all in one. It's so good I can't bring myself to try other things on the menu. It's definitely a 5-star dish.
